Bhavana Rao is an architect and artist with over a decade of experience in sustainable architecture. Previously, they were the Director of Jaaga– an impact-focused co-working community, and the co-founder of Slice Of Life Architecture- a design and construction company.

Currently based in the UK, their practice combines artistic research with participatory and place-based methodologies.

Artist statement

At the heart of my current artistic inquiry lies a fascination with language and the untranslatable. Through my work, I explore the nuances and gaps that emerge when translating experiences between different modalities. Particularly interested in the language of the body and space, I am navigating the terrain where words meet physicality, examining what is gained and lost in translation between these two realms of human experience.

Through my practice, I hope to continuously push the boundaries of creative expression and invite people to contemplate the intricate connections between language, space, and the human condition.
