Bhavana Rao is an artist and architect with over a decade of experience in sustainable architecture. Previously, they were the Director of Jaaga– an impact-focused co-working community, and the co-founder of Slice Of Life Architecture- a design and construction company.

Currently based in the UK, they are pursuing a new chapter in their artistic exploration by studying Fine Art. Their practice spans across various mediums including text, drawing, performance, and spatial interventions.

Artist statement

At the heart of my current artistic inquiry lies a fascination with language and the untranslatable. Through my work, I explore the nuances and gaps that emerge when translating experiences between different modalities. Particularly interested in the language of the body and space, I am navigating the terrain where words meet physicality, examining what is gained and lost in translation between these two realms of human experience.

Through my practice, I hope to continuously push the boundaries of creative expression and invite people to contemplate the intricate connections between language, space, and the human condition.
